UPDATE: This little beagle boy is a treasure! He has shown us in his foster home that he can be playful with other dogs and occasionally shows some interest in toys - which may be new to him. But his energy level is moderate so he also has the ability to settle down and take a nap when you need him to. He only barks when he's in the yard and catches a scent and for the most part will come when called. One of the many lovely things about Brody is his eye contact. He has beautiful almond-shaped eyes and will gaze at you with a gentle , steady expression. He doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled and would probably do well with children. He loves to snuggle close on the bed or couch. He crates well but of course prefers to be closer to his humans . His house training  is very close to perfect  but he has just been neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is ready to find his forever home with some very lucky family!

New Arrival - BRODY!
BRODY the Beagle has quite a rescue story! A kind lady found him at a trailer in Alabama - he was lying helpless and unable to move at all. She picked him up and carried him to her car. On the way to the shelter, she kept talking to him and although he never moved - even to wag his tail - he watched her. They found him to be terribly dehydrated and his electrolytes were unbalanced. He was loaded with fleas and ticks. After Brody got better, the kind lady agreed to foster him until he could come to Florida and SouthEast Beagle Rescue. She has shared that Brody is a mellow fellow and gets along very well with both dogs and cats. In the short time that he has been in Florida we haven't introduced him to cats but can definitely agree he is dog friendly. Brody's Alabama foster mom says he is not particularly playful but prefers a quite life at home with a comfortable couch and someone who will show him lots of attention.
We will update you as Brody settles in with his new Florida foster home!
