UPDATE: SAY HELLO TO BRUNO....our 5 year, 27 pound special-needs beagle! BRUNO came to us because he was blind, so his owner dumped him at a vet's office since they did not want to care for him anymore. The office manager called SEBR instead of the local pound, where his chance of survival would have been about zero. BRUNO was examined by our eye vet who thinks his condition was caused by an underlying infection that was never treated. There was no improvement with special eye drops and, since BRUNO was in severe pain, we elected to have his eyes surgically removed. He is now a happy hound, pain-free and continues to love belly scratches. He maneuvers around the house like a champ with his new Halo that a wonderful lady donated for him. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home and is looking for a family to call his own. Regardless of his situation, he is a sweet, happy boy who loves a good scratch. He would be great for an empty nest family, or an older family without small kids. BRUNO deserves a second chance where he knows he will be taken care of and loved.
