***UPDATE*** Baxter has breezed through his heartworm treatment and is doing really well in his foster home. He is obedient and affectionate and making straight As with house training! He has done well with children and is great with other dogs. Baxter has a quiet, gentle personality. He likes to explore just a bit outside and then seems ready to come back in. He will play with toys and other playful dogs, but is also content to just curl up beside you. He does just fine sleeping in his crate at night but at this point in his development he seems to need to be near his human. He will need a home life where he is not left alone very long or at least a family who can gradually adjust him to that.
JUST ARRIVED!
Baxter IV has just arrived from Louisiana and he is such a cute little thing and so playful! He is psotive for heartworms but we have him scheduled for treatment very soon. Baxter has been in a foster home in Louisiana for a short while and his foster mom says he was making passing grades in potty training but may still need a bit more work. He does prefer being inside though and once he's done his business outside he's ready to come back in and lounge around or play a bit with the other dog he came in with, Buster VII. Both dogs are pretty quiet and only bark when they are excited because foster mom has returned home. When they see other dogs they just wag their tails. We will know more about their social skills when they have had a chance to settle into their Florida foster home.
