Spruce was part of a hoarding case and her owner agreed to surrender her to Animal Control rather than face animal cruelty charges. 

Spruce's foster mom reports that she is doing great! She is not only catching on to the house training, but is learning the "sit" command. Spruce plays well with the other dogs in her foster home and does great with the kids too. She is adjusting well and isn't exhibiting the submissive behaviors she did at first. If Spruce wants to chew on a shoe or some other interesting object, she is accepts being redirected to a dog chew toy easily. She is ready to start a happy life now with her forever family.

Spruce tested positive for Heartworms and will be treated before her adoption can be finalized.
