Mash has an adoption pending

UPDATE:  Mash's foster family are delighted with his sweet disposition and easy ways. He sleeps in his crate with no fussing and walks super well on leash. He has mastered the "sit" command for a treat and gets along with the other dogs in the household marvelously. Mash may have had a not so wonderful beginning to his life, but this dearbeagle mix boy is going to make some family a wonderful pet!

Mash is a beautiful beagle mix who loves people and affection. Nonetheless, we might guess that Mash has not had a very secure beginning in his little doggy life, and possibly has had some scary times which have made him cautious. Not to worry - Mash has now entered the Southeast Beagle Rescue foster and rehabilitation program! This dear beagle boy has already shown us lots of wonderful things about himself in his foster home - he has not had a single accident in the house, he hardly ever barks and he has no problem being crated for a length of time. Recently, Mash visited our vet and was not only neutered but treated for heartworms, so he is on an activity restriction. The leash and the crate are pretty regular parts of his life for the next few weeks. But he is a great sport and puts up no protest. Mash is also doing well with the other dogs in his foster home (and there are several), but he may have had to defend himself on the street and can be a little wary at first. Once he is sure that they aren't going to hurt him, he wags his tail. He would love to run and romp with at least one of the dogs here, but alas, can't let him do that just yet. All good things come with time and we are hoping a really good forever home is out there for this special boy.
