LUCKY CHARM HAS A SLEEPOVER SCHEDULED WITH A POTENTIAL ADOPTER

Lucky Charm has an amazing story! Poor little girl was hit by a car on a back road highway at night but incredibly got stuck up into the front of the grill work so that she was completely off the road. The driver did not realize it and must have felt awful but just drove another 13 miles home. When she arrived, she and her mother heard whimpers and saw Lucky Charm's back legs protruding from the front of the car. They called the police and a very kind policeman came and carefully got her out and gave her the name, Lucky Charm. From there she went to a shelter but we got the word and worked hard to arrange for her to be on the next days' transport as she would not receive any medical attention at that shelter. Our hard work paid off and she arrived the next day. We rushed her to our vet and she was carefully examined. Her injuries were not serious but our vet kept her for obervation - she was very sore and traumatized.

When Lucky Charm first arrived at her foster home she was very shy and wanted to spend a lot of time in her crate, but within a few days she began to warm up and get comfortable. She is still a little shy and unsure and does seem to do much better with another dog. She follows the other female beagle mix in her foster home around all day. She loves meeting new dogs at the park nearby. She does well on a leash but does not seem fond of car rides - understandable after her ordeal! Lucky Charm is a relatively quiet beagle and now greets the neighbors with a tail wag. She likes knowing where her humans are and sometimes checks up on the kids if they are in another room. She is wonderful with the cat, in fact there is a photo below to show how they sometimes nap together in the crate! Too cute! Lucky Charm is doing great with housetraining and lets her family know when she needs to go outside, but she may need a refresher course in a new home. Lucky Charm is very comfortable in a crate and is crated at night and when the family is not at home.
