UPDATE: JERRY II's had surgery where plates and screws/pins were used to repair both his broken femur bone and hip bone. He had physical therapy at the surgeon's office and is already using his injured leg. JERRY II has now been released by our surgeon and we are treating his heartworm disease. JERRY II's rehab is now slow walks so he continues to use and regain strength in that leg.
New Arrival: The first word we got on Jerry II was he was found as a stray in a very rural part of Louisiana. After we agreed to take him into the Rescue and trying to find transport to Florida we were told that he was limping and might have been biy by a snake. The finder said she could not afford to take JERRY II to the vet, but a great donor stepped forward to cover the vet bill so Jerry could get vaccinated and his leg xrayed. We were then told that JERRY II's leg was dislocated. Finally, thanks to a great group of transport volunteers, JERRY II arrived in Florida and one look at the xrays it was clear to see that he had a femur bone that was broken in two and possibly other damage.
Jerry II was examined by our good friend and surgeon, Dr. Callum Hay, who found he had a broken hip bone in addition to his broken femur bone. Both
