Spanky is captivatingly cute - wouldn't you agree? He is still just a youngster at only 7 months old, but he is making straight A's in house training! However, in his foster home he has learned to use a dog door to go outside, so he may need a refresher course in a new home with a different setup. Spanky is delightfully engaging with his puppy antics, especially when caught in the act of stealing a shoe. Really good progress though has been made with chewing on inappropriate things, and Spanky only occasionally has to be redirected. He's just about a perfect puppy except he has one difficulty he needs some help with. When he's cuddling with his human he can sometimes take issue with another dog wanting to cuddle too. This has not been a consistent behavior however and seems to vary from dog to dog. So we will lend all necessary support to ensure that Spanky will be placed in an environment where he can learn and grow safely. Crate training is in progress and although Spanky eats his meals and takes his bedtime treats in a crate, he has been sleeping in bed with his foster mom. He's the best little cuddler! He has learned "in your crate" means he goes in first and THEN gets the treat. He also knows sit. Caution should be taken with food though because Spanky is all beagle when it comes to edibles! He's absolutely BEAGLE CRAZY for food and those who know their beagles know that is not uncommon at all LOL. We are so hoping that little Spanky can find a home with not just love, but also with some good parenting and structure. He was originally found abandoned and taken in by a good samaritan.
