ADOPTION PENDING
1/21/23 - Update: Dobby is a quick learner. He's learned to settle a bit and now knows "sit", "stay", "down" in a matter of a few days. He is eager to please. He has taken correction well with toys he wasn't a fan of giving up and now does quite well. He's fine on the leash and gets to go on several long walks and an almost daily run in the local fenced in dog park. In the last several days he's not had any accidents so is progressing quiet well with house training. So far he's doing well with his house manners and house trustworthiness. He is allowed on the couch in his foster Mom's home. He LOVES dogs and people. He's a cuddle bug. He is fine in the crate. When he's outside and sees another dog, he is a little vocal - but he's a Beagle and he's excited to meet everyone. He's a high energy boy. Although he's estimated to be 5 years old, his foster Mom says - he acts like a 2 year old with his energy. He will be great in an active family who enjoys long walks and the ability to give him a safe area to run on a regular basis. He would love to be in a home with another dog and really just wants to be your lap dog.
We were SO glad to be able to rescue Dobby from a dangerous shelter in Louisiana and very grateful to one of our Louisiana fosters for taking him in. Dobby is such a social little guy with people and with other dogs. He is very good natured and frisky; he loves to be with other dogs. He has just arrived in Florida and his foster mom is enjoying teaching him some obedience commands - she says he is a quick learner. Dobby did test positive for heartworms but is scheduled for treatment. He should be ready for a sleepover the first of February.
