Gabe is one of the happiest hounds we’ve seen here at SEBR. Just spending time with him is incredibly therapeutic! And the great thing about Gabe’s happiness is that he’s so quiet about it. He bounces on all fours when he gets excited, yet won’t annoy the neighbors or wake up the baby. It’s a Win-Win!
He loves his pack and would likely do best with other dogs in a place with a fenced in yard where he can bounce and play. His Foster-BFF is a 74-pound basset hound, and he’s not at all intimidated by bigger dogs.
When he’s not busy bouncing, Gabe likes his crate, but also likes snoozing on the couch.
Gabe was abandoned a few months ago on a dead-end road in Alabama. He was rightfully feeling a little un-trusting and timid at first, but he’s come a long way since then, and is ready for his fur-ever home.
He was heartworm positive, but has finished his treatment.
Pro tip from his foster mom: Keep your shoes in the closet and the closet doors closed, or else they will end up in the backyard. From what I understand, he is quite a collector.
