ADOPTION PENDING

UPDATE:  2/19/23 - Margie is a loveable couch potato!  She is currently being fostered in a very active home with two small children and a young adult dog.  Margie isn't phased by all the activity.  She's doing great with her house training where she goes out on leash every 3-4 hours during the day.  She's making strides with her leash walking skills too!  She enjoys human attention and will seek out attention.  She's currently left along for about 6 hours a day and crated.  She's a bit hand-shy but with time, she'll learn that human hands are for love.  She tolerates bathing well - not a volunteer, but accepts it.  Margie is crated and does well overnight.  She's eating great - about 1 1/2 cups in the morning and 1 cup in the evening.  She's not vocal and may enjoy apartment or townhome life.  If you really want to make her day, give her a couch to nap on and a nylabone and she's in heaven.  She's getting her vetting done by 3/1/23 and will be ready for her sleepover shortly thereafter.

Affectionate and very mellow are Margie's major personality traits. So far she's not exhibiting much of a playful nature but instead would be your gorgeous couch potato. No need to provide a strenuous exercise regime as long as you watch her food intake. Margie is larger than a beagle and possibly has some Bassett or some other breed mixed in with her beagle-ness. Margie's foster mom says she is doing great with house training, being in a crate and they don't think they've heard her bark! She is heartworm positive and also needs to be spayed but should be ready for a sleepover soon. At least observing the activity restriction post-treatment will not be too difficult with this laid back lady!
